Stepping out of Miglieglia, you can take advantage of over hundred kilometers of hiking trails but the village centralized location also enable you to reach quickly numerous nice places to visit in Ticino.

Miglieglia is an old village whose heart remained authentic. You will appreciate a walk to Santo Stefano church, dating from the XVth century and protected by the Swiss confederation. When you get there, the fantastic view will give you a peaceful feeling.

Monte Lema is the top of the mountain located just behind our village. At 1600m height, you can enjoy a wonderful view over Lake Lugano on one side and on Lake Maggiore on the other side with the Alps in the background. Monte Lema is called the balcony of Ticino.

You can walk to reach the top but you can also use the cable railway which leaves out of the village main square.

From the top, various mountain hikes are offered - including one which reach Monte Tamaro following the mountains crests. (5h)

You can then return to Miglieglia by shuttle bus.

Mountain hikes are Malcantone's prime attraction & this area offers a large number of various walks in the mountains amidst woods & rivers.

Mountain bike is very popular in our region and Ticino has a lot of different paths to offer including the descent from Monte Lema

Lugano bike

Monte Tamaro is a 30 min drive away.

A cable railway will bring you to the first level where you'll find the tree-climbing adventure park. 

At the second level, you'll have the choice between summer sledging or the flying fox (zipwire) or you can just decide to have a nice lunch enjoying the fantastic view.

Downhill, in the brand new complex 'Splash & Spa', you can either relax at the Spa or thrill seakers can have fun on the waterslides.

Easily reachable by foot (20min), this beatiful location is home to an old forge running thanks to a wheel powered by the Magliasina river. Completly refurbished, you can visit the site as well.

Maglio is composed of two water wells where you can swim and either play in the river for the little ones or - for the most courageous ones - jump from the top of the waterfall at a height of 5 to 6 meters. There is a small beach close to the river.

Various public or private beaches are reachable in 15 min drive.

The closest swimming pool is at 15 min drive, at Sessa.
